Program Details

INDUSTRY SPECIFIC RESOURCES & MENTORSHIP

Calling all contractors and businesses in the trades!

If your business engages in construction or related trades, and you are looking for business support to grow, this program is for you. In addition to industry specific resources, you will also work with a professional Business Advisor for a deep dive into the nuts and bolts of your business to overcome challenges and take advantage of opportunities.

Business advisors work on an individual basis with clients in areas such as:

  • Business planning and strategy development

  • Market research and analysis 

  • Accounting system setup and training 

  • Human resources support 

  • Financial analysis and loan packaging 

  • Small business forums and peer networking events

  • Resource and referrals to other professional services including legal, credit repair, tax prep, and more

GroundWork for the Trades also includes industry-specific support with:

  • Construction project management and reporting

  • Construction bidding, sales and software

  • Construction estimating

  • Navigating contractor and regulatory requirements

  • Bonding and access to capital

  • Union and workforce requirements

In addition, advisors network clients to a host of beneficial contacts and resources in the Portland metropolitan area.

Eligibility

  • Must live or have a business Oregon

    1. Must be ONE or more of the following:

      • BIPOC-owned, or

      • Woman-owned, or

      • Federally or State Certified as:

        • Service-Disabled Veteran-owned, or

        • Disadvantaged Business, or

        • Emerging Small Business

    2. Must be a construction or related trade business
