My name is Emilly Prado and I am a writer, DJ, and educator focused on bringing community together through creativity. I help people feel more connected by creating spaces for joy, exchange, and inspiration. I’ve been professionally writing for over a decade and have received awards for both my journalism and debut essay collection, Funeral for Flaca. I approach my work with great detail and care—whether creating curriculum for a creative writing class for high schoolers or adults, delivering a university talk about my experiences as a first-gen Chicana and college student, or curating a highly-specific DJ set for a wedding or non-profit client.
